Little Smiles as We Wait

This time of waiting during the Christmas season is a time that is so hard for the whole family! Wishing Lovely was right in the middle of "helping" with decorating the tree, or saying her ohhhh's and ahhh's like little Micah our 2 year old foster son who has been with us since 2 days old and although we did not know would still be with us now~is :-) And, God again is not surpised! Watching Christmas through his eyes makes me think so much of the reactions Lovely would be having, and it often brings a tear to my eye. Today however watching and listening to him brought many smiles and a warm heart! Little Micah talks about himself in the 3rd person and narrates everything he is doing pretty much the whole day long....he is an excellent communicator and given the rough,rough start in life he had has far exceeded how very well he would be talking at just turning 2! The moment that got me today was when he brought out 2 teddy bears from the Nursery and said "Micah is playing one for me, one for Lovely, Micah is good boy and is sharing!" Then he sat down and pretended to share his snack with Lovely as well saying "Micah having snackies and sharing with Lovely, Lovely likea Micah's snackies. Micah a nice boy". Yes, Micah is a nice boy! And yes, Lovely will "likea" his snackies! It is so cool to me to see Jesus preparing even a little tiny one for the arrival of Lovely and how he is perhaps almost as excited as we are. When we pray at dinner Jim, I and our 11 year old son Elijah always end the prayer with "and bring Lovely home soon,really soon" so, now Micah says the same thing when he prays "bring Lovely home so soon!" I don't know why but it just was really what I needed today, a smile from the Father I suppose. A "hang on" you really are going to make it to the finish line and it REALLY is going to be WORTH IT!
Holding on tight, thankful HE is not ever surprised, excited to see Christmas through Lovely's eyes next year! (and p.s. I got Micah and Lovely adorable matching boy/girl Christmas Jammies when it looked possible she could be home for Christmas (they are only 5 months apart in age and almost exactly the same size!) and she WILL wear her Christmas Jammies in Haiti as soon as we get back to her, and at HOME with him as soon as she gets HOME!)
