So, I thought I would give you a quick update and let you know where Lovely and I are have been and what we are doing :-)
Well, we are still are under "Health Dept" watch due to the parasites, which means we are pretty much Housebound. So while today was supposed to be our first day to church with Lovely and a little informal meeting her for many of you.....that was again postponed till the Dr's appt this week. (if you are praying that appt is on Thurs and we would love to get a CLEAN and good to go out and about report, especially since her Birhtday is next Saturday and we would like to have a little party with family and have her feel like partying. And the appt with the surgeon is on Friday.) And,IF you have ever dealt with this issue we are dealing with you know that it is long, icky, messing and not a whole lot of fun! Lovely is just like any other 2 year old and HATED the medicine! SO, being told we had to start round 2 and go to a bigger, stronger does was NOT good news and then her spitting out the majority of the whole 3 pill 2nd dose meant we had to re-do the 2nd does which was also not fun for her or Mama and Papa! And, while a baby/child is on the medicine let's just say they do not feel very good and there are MANY "messes" to clean up and full outfit changes everyday! The outfit changes Lovely absoutley ADORES as she would change clothes as many times a day as I would let her to try and wear EVERY single beautiful thing in her closet and EVERY pair of shoes! :-) Oh My!
So,while that is not exactly what we thought things would look like the first couple of weeks of Lovely being home it has actually turned out to have some positive impact too.....for one, the bonding~know who your people are and be comfortable and secure with them is going FANTASTIC! Believe me she KNOWS who her family is, and that is incredible! The learning English and our learning Creole also going great!
So now, wanting to look on the positive side of this unexpexted part of the Homecoming I thought I'd tell you some of the things you CAN do while you are under Health Dept watch instead of all the things you can NOT do ;-)
You CAN: still go on hikes/walks with Mama and Papa and M and we have hiked about 3 miles a day with the "twins" almost everyday. They are LOVING that and while we can not get out and play on the play equipement yet they can get out of the stroller on the last part of the bridge and run, skip, learn to gallop and get those wiggles out!
You CAN: still play in the backyard on those awesome sunny days we had! And M calls our back woods our "forest" so we hike loops around our forest many times a day as well. And we swing on the swingset, slide down the slide and watch Elijah jump higher and higher on the trampoline and oh and ahhhh at how very cool he is!
You CAN spend hours coloring and learning new board games like memory!Wow!How great both the twins already are at both of those things!
You CAN sing, and dance, and wrestle with Papa and Elijah and they ALL love that!
You CAN try out EVERY New goodie and treat the wonderful ladies of the church have brought us and develop a good idea for what she is going to like and not like! Cupcakes happen to be WAY on the top of the list of likes and a great motivator to go ahead and try some of the other foods :-)
So, there is just a little glimpse at what we HAVE been doing instead of what we have NOT been able to do! Knowing that Library storytime WILL still be there (convincing M that is true is the hard part!)and meeting all our friends WILL still happen, and Baby Showers I KNOW some of you are so wanting to have! And ALL the fun stuff on our lists which includes many of you WILL still happen.
Thanks so much for being patient, loving on us, praying for us and we will be so happy to see you again very, very soon!
Shelly
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Keep remembering that, in the whole scope of life, this will be a very short blip of time. Something to be endured so that life in all its fullness may be experienced! Hang in there. God's favor rests upon your dear family.
